Unmasked Prom

When we were in the final year of secondary school the end of year prom was a significant marker for most students. It was the marker of finishing our exams, of finishing school but most importantly our transition into adulthood and for the first time having some control over our futures. This night gave us all the opportunity to glam up, grab a date and celebrate.
Life changes though and so do we. For so many queer people that experience was not lived the way we would have liked either because we didn't know who we were or because we were too scared to do so. Many of us look back and on it and wish we could have gone as the person we are now or could have gone with a person who we loved.
Well we here at Crawley LGBT have teamed up with Creative Crawley to give all queer people the chance to relive that night and reclaim that experience.
Taking place on Saturday 14th February 2026 after hours in the Creative Crawley Space in the County Mall we proudly present the Unmasked Prom.
The idea is that the first part of the night everyone comes in masquerade and shortly into the evening everyone will be prompted to remove their masks, stop hiding and reveal their true selves. As you enter you will have the opportunity to get a photo in front of a prom style glitter wall (Provided by Twist and Float) and then walk down a romantic runway for your Instagramable moments and into the main prom area. There we will have a bar on site where you can purchase drinks at a reasonable price and a buffet selection available to graze on at your leisure, both of these with the aim to keep you energised and motivated to get onto the dancefloor.
Through out the evening there will be some entertainment, we have two of our amazing local drag queens Mary Hinge and Carmelle Toe who will light up the stage the way they always do! They will be followed by an incredible DJ that will give you all the dance classics you are looking for and I'm sure if you ask nicely he'll play your request for you too.
As the event draws to a close the fun doesn't have to be over for those that wish to continue. We will be forming a walking train and as a group we will make our way over to Diamonds Bar to continue together.
